Clinical Laboratory Assistant
Pay: $22-50-$23.50/hr
6 month contract position to start
Responsibilities:

  • Molecular Genetic Testing: Perform molecular genetic testing on clinical specimens, including expression array analysis.

  • Standard Operating Procedures: Follow the laboratory’s standard operating procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, and recording of testing processes.

  • Quality Control: Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies and document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed.

  • Quality Assurance: Perform all laboratory activities in accordance with the Quality Assurance Program.

  • Training and Competency: Engage in training and competency assessments.

  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement activities/projects.

  • Laboratory Policies: Follow the laboratory’s established policies and procedures.

  • Problem Identification: Identify and report problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results.

  • Corrective Actions: Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.

  • Meetings: Attend and participate in staff/quality meetings.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Participate in activities associated with regulatory compliance and inspections.

  • Safety: Contribute to the safety of the laboratory operations by adhering to established safety procedures and making recommendations for improvement.

  • Team Environment: Work cooperatively in a team environment and support senior laboratory and management staff.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of laboratory experience.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently.
