Research Associate - In Vitro Studies

Thousand Oaks, CA | Contact | $35-45/hr 

We are looking for a dedicated and driven Research Associate who is ready to contribute to our innovative team. If you have a passion for in vivo and in vitro research and meet the qualifications, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a bridge between teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

  • Organize and manage lab processes, working alongside the Site Head and Operations and Research teams.

  • Significantly contribute to the design, planning, and execution of in vitro and in vivo studies related to the mechanism of action, early exploratory indications, tolerability, PK/PD, and therapeutic efficacy.

  • Conduct pharmacology and pharmacokinetic studies in animal models to evaluate therapeutic candidates through various readouts.

  • Assess biomarkers (e.g., Luminex, PCR, ELISA) in animal tissues and cell extracts.

  • Willingness to perform standard in vivo procedures, including rodent handling, blood collection, multi-route dosing (IV, IP, SC, PO), urine collection, necropsies, and tissue collection, in compliance with approved IACUC protocols and AAALAC regulations.

  • Prepare facilities and sterilize instruments for animal procedures.

  • Order supplies and maintain inventories for both in vivo and in vitro procedures.

  • Keep accurate records of experiments and procedures following approved company guidelines.

  • Exhibit excellent organizational and lab management skills, ensuring smooth lab operations and communication.

  • Support in vitro studies as needed, with a strong emphasis on ELISA and Luminex techniques.

Qualifications: 

  • B.Sc or MS with a minimum of 3+ years of research experience.

  • Strong in vivo background with willingness to handle animals.

  • Extensive experience in molecular biology techniques such as ELISAs, protein extraction from cell cultures and animal tissues, and the Luminex-based multiplex platform.

  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills, with knowledge of lab equipment, procedures, and day-to-day laboratory functions, adhering strictly to laboratory safety guidelines.

  • Familiarity with basic lab software: Microsoft Office, GraphPad Prism, and ELN for record-keeping.

  • Demonstrates collaborative and broad-thinking abilities.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present findings effectively.

  • Some microscopy experience is desirable.

  • Background in histotechnology would be advantageous.
