Kelly Services is looking for a CNC Operator for a premier client in Bartlet, IL
The primary purpose of this position is to machine parts according to blueprints, established procedures, and guidelines within specified timeframes. The role requires programming and setting up CNC machines, conducting first article inspections, maintaining equipment, generating records, and effectively communicating with both the team and Quality personnel.

This is a direct hire opportunity – Meaning you are company day 1!


Position Responsibilities:

  • Program and Set-Up:

    • Program and set up CNC machine, including first article inspection.

    • Make adjustments to the program/machine as necessary based on results.

    • Effectively use measuring equipment and fixtures.


  • Operation and Maintenance:

    • Run the machine following established procedures and guidelines. 

    • Maintain the machine according to the manual and maintenance sheet.

    • Perform other duties as assigned. 


  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Generate and maintain records related to machining.

    • Report time and quantities through the ERP system.


  • Communication:

    • Communicate effectively within the team and with Quality personnel.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to read blueprints and effectively work with forms, department procedures, and objectives.

  • Proficient in using measuring equipment and fixtures.

  • Capable of diagnosing deviations and making necessary corrections.

  • Experience in programming machines according to machine language.

  • Skilled in using hand tools for set up and finishing parts.

  • Basic mechanical knowledge to understand the design and functionalities of machines.

  • Knowledge of the metric system.

  • Ability to report time and quantities through the ERP system.

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Development certificate (GED) is required.

  • Vocational training or equivalent is preferred.

  • Minimum one year of direct or related experience is required.

  • Programming experience is required.
