Summary
Kelly Engineering is working with our client to fill an Operations Manager of Engineering/Operations position. Our client is a leading provider of precision-engineered components and assemblies for various industries. Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead and optimize their daily business activities. As a key member of their leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, and long-term success.

This is a leadership role that is ready to take the next step in their career.  Hands-on operations management overseeing the shop operation. Not a role that is strictly working behind a desk.

Areas of Responsibility Oversee Planning/Scheduling, Factory Operations, Continuous Improvement, Inventory Management, and Shipping/Receiving Departments Strategic Decision-Making
o Work with senior management to develop and execute long-term business strategies
o Set operational goals aligned with the company s vision and mission
o Make informed decisions to enhance overall performance Operational Management
o Monitor and analyze key performance metrics
o Collaborate with department heads to develop plans for continuous improvement and optimize resource allocation Staff Supervision and Development
o Lead and motivate teams from various departments
o Provide constructive feedback and mentorship to enhance team performance
o Foster a positive work environment that encourages growth and collaboration Customer Support and Satisfaction
o Implement strategies to enhance customer experience and resolve issues promptly Delivery Quality Policy Formulation and Implementation
o Revise existing policies and create new ones to improve operational efficiency
o Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements Performance Evaluation
o Gather, analyze, and interpret data to evaluate overall company performance
o Implement corrective actions as necessary Goals Support COO in Implementation of:
o SQDC Culture
o Safety Program
o Material Management Cycle Counting Program
o Warehouse Design Material Flow
o Daily Performance Management
o Planning/Scheduling of Factory Install Capacity Management Master Data Improve Customer Delivery by 10 in 2024 2 Improve Productivity/Efficiency by 5 in 2024
o Reduce machine Set-ups frequency of changes and time to achieve
o Develop and Perform Daily Performance Management Review Board Review performance of jobs real-time Install a 5S Culture inside of factory
o Train team to maintain clean work area
o Paint aisle ways and footprints for material staging
o Eliminate excess and obsolete materials Achieve 0 Quality Spills
o Validate in-process inspections, enhance where needed
o Ensure compliance to QMS standards Develop Staff
o Project Management Execution
o Lean Manufacturing Principles
o Data Analytics
o Cross-Training Transition from Manual to Automated ERP Scheduling and Planning of Factory
o Manage Master Data Requirements
o Balance load by work center Qualifications Strong leadership skills.

  • While the firm is family owned and operates on an informal basis, the Operation Manager must have the respect of all staff members.

  • Such respect will be earned by demonstrating exceptional technical manufacturing skills, combined with the ability to manage and direct the production workers in a firm and effective manner.

  • The Operations Manager must have the desire to build successful and productive working relationships with all employees.

  • Extensive Machining Experience.

  • The company drives value inside a diverse manufacturing operation encompassing CNC machining, welding, stamping, fabricating, as well as a full tool die shop.

The Operations Manager must be experienced and skilled in all aspects of the metal fabrication and machining industry. Exceptional organizational skills.
