Job details

Direct Hire opportunity with a growing Tier One Automotive Supplier in the Windsor area for an R&D Quality Engineer. This role requires a Mechanical Engineering degree as this person will be working directly with the Design & Research Development Teams verifying designs.
Will work directly with the Mexico plant for Launch Process & APQP.
Hybrid
Travel – 10%
Salary range up to $120,000k (Canadian dollars)

Responsibilities for the Position:

  • Prepare product specifications, DVP and PV verification plans, 3D data, and 2D drawings.

  • Report the R&D results that have passed the test to the company and file the materials after passing.

  • Sort out the company’s existing project standards and project cases and establish the company’s platform and modular product structure standard series.

  • Cooperate with electrical engineers to analyze potential failures in modular technologies for support, pneumatic, climate, and other functions.

  • Conduct Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) of new and existing products and manufacturing processes.

  • Collaborate with all departments involved in the development of new products or manufacturing processes.

  • Lead design reviews of products under development phase using Design FMEA.

  • Lead reviews of manufacturing processes using Process FMEA.

  • Ensure high quality of whole FMEA activity and correct application of the method.

  • Conduct troubleshooting.

  • Introduce innovative solutions and ideas to improve design and process.

  • Apply Automotive standard norms.

Authority to:

  • Lead to review potential failure analysis before launch.

  • Evaluate product and process design risk to request ECR before implementation.

  • Request product and process design improvements before launch.

Goals to Achieve at 3 months / 6 months / 1 year

  1. Develop DFMEA analysis and actions to mitigate product and process failures during series production.
