Direct hire opportunity in the Northville, MI for a Quality APQP Engineer.
This position will require 30% travel – National & International
Main focus will be on APQP
Hybrid
Salary ranging up to $110,000k
Bachelor’s degree and automotive experience required
Responsibilities for the Position:
- Lead New Product Launches from the award of business to the successful completion of quality records (such as PPAP).
- Develop project timelines for APQP projects and ensure successful adherence to the schedule.
- Interface with a cross-functional group that includes sales, quality, and engineering as well as our vendor and customer base.
- Ensure the adherence of the APQP phases according to customer and company requirements and procedures.
- Incorporate lessons learned into future designs and processes to prevent recurrence.
- Monitor and validate that each activity established is well documented according to the QMS.
- Attend APQP customer meetings.
- Ensure Top management approval for each APQP phase.
- Prepare monthly summary of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the APQP process.
- Monitor the adherence of Sales / Program Management and Product and Process design into the QMS.
Authority to:
- Lead APQP’s North America programs.
- Evaluate product and process design risk to request ECR before implementation.
- Attend APQP customer meetings.
- Monitor processes established in North America.
Goals to Achieve at 3 months / 6 months / 1 year:
- Create timeline and follow up monthly APQP milestones.
- Ensure APQP phases according to the procedure.
- Conduct monthly APQP audits.
- Obtain top management approval according to APQP milestones.
