Job Title: Material Handler
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Pay Rate: $20.00 An Hour
Hours: 7 AM – 4 PM Monday – Friday and occasional Saturdays for overtime
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our team. This role involves managing and preparing materials for shipment with a focus on labeling, picking, packing, and shipping tasks. The Material Handler is responsible for ensuring all materials are accurately processed and prepared in accordance with company standards and customer requirements. Forklift experience is preferred but not required.
Core Responsibilities:
- Labeling: Accurately label products and materials to ensure proper identification for storage, distribution, and shipping.
- Picking & Packing: Pick items from inventory based on customer orders and ensure items are packed securely and accurately for shipment.
- Shipping: Prepare and ship materials following company packaging guidelines and accepted practices to meet customer requirements.
- Inventory Management: Conduct routine checks and inquiries to maintain accurate inventory levels and record product movements within the warehouse.
- Receiving & Inspection: Unload, inspect, and document incoming shipments, reporting any damages, defects, or discrepancies.
- Material Handling Equipment: Safely operate material handling equipment such as dollies, pallet jacks, and forklifts to move products within the warehouse.
- Stocking: Replenish shelves in the warehouse, organizing products by category and ensuring items are accessible for future picking.
- Documentation: Accurately complete reports and documentation for material receipts, shipments, and inventory adjustments.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Authorized to work in the United States
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required)
- Previous experience in warehousing or inventory management is a plus
- Basic understanding of inventory procedures and labeling requirements
- Forklift experience preferred; training can be provided
- Physical ability to lift and carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed, with or without assistance
- Willingness to work overtime, after hours, weekends, and during emergency situations as required
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
