Technical Manager – Injection Molding
Location: Costa Mesa, CA
Pay Range: $115K to $160K

Role Overview:
The Technical Manager is a hands-on leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to produce high-quality injection-molded products. You will lead technical initiatives, mentor molding personnel, and ensure operational excellence through process improvements and technical training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, document, and optimize new and existing injection molding processes.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to technicians, operators, and molding personnel.
- Collaborate on tooling and process validations, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
- Oversee mold assessments, repairs, and refurbishments to meet production demands.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in molding, assembly, and tooling.
- Monitor, validate, and periodically review process parameters for all jobs.
- Support quality assurance efforts, resolving CARs and implementing corrective actions.
- Champion ISO 9001, AS9100, and ISO 13485 compliance while promoting GMP standards.
Qualifications:
- Certification in Master Molder or Scientific Molding – Preferred but not required (RJG certification preferred).
- 7–10 years of experience in plastic injection molding, including mold and process validation.
- Hands-on expertise with starting, operating, and troubleshooting injection molding machines.
- Background in aerospace and medical component molding is highly desirable.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of DOE, CAR, SPC, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Effective communication skills for working across all levels of an organization.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary ranging from $115,000K to $160K.
