CNC Machine Operator
Location: Bartlett, IL 
Shift: 1st shift, 5am-1:30pm, over time when needed

Position Summary

The CNC machine operator will machine parts to exact specifications using CNC equipment, ensuring quality and efficiency. This role involves programming, setting up, and maintaining machines while adhering to established procedures and timelines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Program & Setup:

    • Program and set up CNC machines, including first article inspection.

    • Adjust machine settings as needed to ensure optimal performance.


  • Machining & Maintenance:

    • Operate machines to produce parts according to blueprints and procedures.

    • Perform routine machine maintenance as outlined in manuals.


  • Quality Control:

    • Use measuring tools to inspect finished parts and diagnose deviations.

    • Maintain records and report production data through the ERP system.


  • Team Collaboration:

    • Communicate effectively with team members and quality assurance personnel.

    • Support a clean and organized work environment.


  • Additional Tasks:

    • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Education:

    • High School diploma or GED required.

    • Vocational training is preferred.


  • Experience:

    • Minimum 1 year of CNC operation or related experience.

    • Programming experience is required.


  • Skills:

    • Ability to read blueprints and work with department procedures.

    • Proficient in using measuring tools and diagnosing machine deviations.

    • Familiarity with metric systems and basic mechanical concepts.

    • ERP system knowledge for reporting production data.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and demonstrate a sense of urgency.

  • Excellent interpersonal communication, especially with team members and quality assurance.

  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, and carrying items up to 30 lbs.

  • Occasional exposure to dirt, dust, smoke, or fumes.

  • Visual acuity for close-up work and color perception.

  • Willingness to work overtime and a two-shift schedule as needed.
