Length of assignment: Contract to hire, or direct hire
Location: Rome, GA
Schedule: 3/2, 12hr, 7A-P
Compensation: $20-24/hr
Summary: Be a quality leader for the Rome facility. Help improve our Quality Culture and adherence to processes. Be a “Voice of the Customer”. Partner with operations, maintenance, engineering, and supplier control teams to focus on projects and initiatives that will improve organizational quality.
Responsibilities:
- Daily Tasks
- Review and sign off on the Operator Quality Control Logs and other Quality paperwork to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Complete standard Quality Lab tests per QC Quality Control Log.
- Conduct frequent rounds of all production processes. In addition to standard quality checks, these rounds will include visual inspection of tear sheets, WIP, and palletized products.
- Complete COAs as required, including additional requirements for customer specific COAs.
- Train operators on your shift on quality procedures and systems as well as any changes in Quality Department documentation.
- Ensure all material entering the Quality Hold area have accurate and complete Hold Tag with detailed notes on issue. Keep Quarantine Area organized. Ensure material on hold is processed in a timely manner. Assist with disposition as needed.
- Ensure Quality Hold procedure is being followed. Review prior and following rolls to ensure all defective material is captured.
- Enter Hold Tags
- File retains generated on assigned shift
- Ensure DMRs that occur on your shift are properly documented.
- Communicate with on-coming shift Quality Technician regarding any issues related to safety, quality holds, machine concerns, SQF concerns, etc.
- Assist in corrective action investigations that occurred on assigned or covered shift.
- Complete Lab Cleaning records per schedule
- Ensure GC gas supply is adequate.
- Ensure that all investigations and additional testing are recorded and communicated with Quality Department.
- Review and sign off on the Operator Quality Control Logs and other Quality paperwork to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Additional tasks as needed
- Participate and lead projects to improve Quality Systems
- Investigate internal quality issues.
- Assist in customer complaint investigation.
- Customer Return processing to determine defects, credited amount, etc. Complete return worksheet. Assist in processing steps including destruction of rolls, preparation for rework, and post-rework processing.
- Enter DMRs into spreadsheet, coordinate samples or entire roll being shipped to supplier. Coordinate film and DMR samples and testing as requested by Material Coordinator. Work with Receiving Department to send out DMR rolls as requested.
- Collect additional tests as requested for data analysis efforts.
- Ship INX Drawdowns and Customer Samples as needed.
- File Supplier COAs
- Receive weekly silo shipments. Ensure samples and documentation are properly stored.
- File QC documents & GCs on monthly basis
- As requested, conduct and document detailed in-depth internal quality system audits in production and support areas including compliance to quality procedures.
- Support vacation coverage for Quality Team
- Consider additional training for career growth. This could include ASQ, SQF, or HACCP certifications.
- Consider joining internal teams such as Safety Team
- Assist with other tasks as needed.
- Participate and lead projects to improve Quality Systems
Knowledge/Skills:
- Capable of coordinating multiple priorities, projects, and resources simultaneously in a fast-paced lean manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in quality management systems.
- Able to create detailed reports, presentations and documents using the MS Office product lines.
Requirements:
- Experience in quality related role in an industrial setting is preferred.
- Experience in Global Food Safety Initiative, preferably SQF is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.
- ASQ Certification desired but not required.
- Experience with Radius ERP system desired but not required.
