Job Title: Electrical Technician
Shift: Monday – Thursday 7am -5:30pm
Pay: $17hr + DOE
Duration: Temp to Hire
Location: Hartsville, SC
Job Summary
The Electrical Technician is responsible for planning, installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with job specifications and local codes. This role involves testing and troubleshooting electrical systems to ensure functionality, compatibility, and safety, using a range of tools and diagnostic equipment.
Key Responsibilities
– Plan and install electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes.
– Connect electrical components, including wires, circuit breakers, and transformers, to ensure proper functionality.
– Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits using devices like ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to verify system compatibility and safety.
– Operate various tools and equipment, including power construction tools, measuring devices, and diagnostic equipment, to complete tasks accurately.
– Inspect electrical systems and components to identify potential hazards, defects, or necessary repairs and ensure compliance with regulations.
Essential Skills and Abilities
– Identify and resolve operating issues in electrical systems.
– Use appropriate tools to repair or replace malfunctioning systems or components.
– Pay attention to feedback, fully understand others’ points, and ask questions as needed to avoid miscommunication.
– Apply logic and reasoning to evaluate different solutions and make well-informed decisions.
– Weigh potential costs and benefits of actions to choose the best course.
– Interpret and understand written instructions, manuals, and work-related documents effectively.
Tools and Equipment Proficiency
– Proficient in using a range of tools and equipment, including power tools, construction equipment, measuring devices, oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
Requirements
– Knowledge of electrical codes, safety regulations, and best practices for electrical installations required.
– High school Diploma or GED.
– 1-2yrs of experience in electrical installation, maintenance, and repair.
– Familiarity with reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, and manuals.
