Kelly Services is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic for a busy Biotechnology company located in Plantation, FL 33313.

Starting Pay Rate- $22+/hour Depends on experience
Schedule- Mon-Fri  8am-5pm plus mandatory OT

Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Mechanic 

Job Type: Full-Time, Temp to hire

Job Description: The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for performing planned and unplanned maintenance on facility, equipment, utility, and HVAC systems. This includes following the planned maintenance schedule, responding to work orders, and supporting the overall operations of the company. The main objective is to ensure that the facility, utilities, and equipment are maintained in a safe, clean, and compliant manner to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations and meet company goals and client project needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned maintenance (PMs) for facilities, equipment, and utility systems based on the monthly PM plan

  • Coordinate with external contractors for PMs on HVAC systems as per the monthly PM plan

  • Address unplanned maintenance needs based on issued work orders for equipment and utility systems

  • Coordinate with external contractors for unplanned maintenance on equipment, utility systems, and HVAC systems when necessary

  • Ensure availability of materials, consumables, and spare parts for PMs and annual shutdowns

  • Order materials, consumables, and spare parts in a timely manner to meet maintenance requirements

  • Assist the Facilities Manager in implementing a new engineering tools, materials, consumables, and spare part system

  • Organize existing materials, consumables, and spare parts within the new system

  • Complete all required documentation for PMs, annual shutdowns, and work orders in accordance with the Quality Management System

  • Assist in equipment, utility, and HVAC system investigations and corrective actions as required by the Quality Management System

  • Maintain training requirements as per the Quality Management System

  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of mechanical spaces, mezzanines, and ceiling spaces, avoiding unauthorized or improper storage

  • Support facility calibration and validation activities as assigned by the Facilities Manager

  • Assist with facility construction activities as directed by the Facilities Manager

  • Contribute to the emergency response team for equipment malfunctions, environmental monitoring system alarms, and hurricane readiness activities

  • Ability to lift up to 55 lbs

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Required:

  • High School Diploma

  • Trade certification in HVAC, Boiler, Electrical, Mechanical preferred

  • Experience in a GMP Pharmaceutical/Biotech environment preferred

  • Good mechanical skills and hands-on experience

  • Strong documentation skills

Interactions:

  • Interact with all departments within the company

  • Coordinate with external contractors
