About the Role:
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a knack for negotiation and a passion for building strong supplier relationships?
We are seeking a dynamic Purchasing Specialist to join our team! In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring our supply chain runs smoothly, collaborating with sales teams and suppliers to source high-quality products at the best prices. If you thrive in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and have a keen eye for detail, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities:
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and select vendors based on price, reliability, and quality. Maintain up-to-date records on pricing histories and vendor performance.
- Order Processing: Prepare and verify purchase orders, ensuring specifications and pricing meet requirements. Collaborate with suppliers to confirm availability and negotiate delivery schedules.
- Inventory Monitoring: Review requisitions against inventory levels, recommend alternatives, and reorder based on minimum inventory quantities.
- Issue Resolution: Work closely with purchasing and sales teams to resolve discrepancies in purchase orders and shipments, addressing any delays or errors promptly.
- Supplier Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with suppliers regarding orders, confirmations, and delivery instructions. Address missing or incorrect invoices and past-due orders efficiently.
- Data Entry: Accurately input verified purchasing information into the company’s management system, ensuring smooth and precise order tracking.
- Continuous Improvement: Monitor inventory levels of bulk merchandise and suggest reorders, ensuring we meet demand without overstocking.
What We’re Looking For:
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s Degree or a combination of education and experience in a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years in purchasing or a similar role, with experience managing multiple vendors and contracts.
Skills:
- Strong negotiation skills and judgment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, numerical, and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Creative problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency and accuracy
- Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail
