Mechanical Design Engineer
Mundelein, IL
6 month contract with possible extension
$45/HR + benefits + paid holidays
This role involves designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and systems for our packaging solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, experience in 3D modeling software, and a background in designing components for manufacturing efficiency and reliability.
Ideal candidate will have: OEM machine design experience and a strong proficiency with SolidWorks
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems from concept through to production.
- Use CAD software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD) to create detailed designs, drawings, and prototypes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and ensure manufacturability.
- Conduct testing and analysis on prototypes, making modifications as needed for optimization.
- Ensure designs meet regulatory standards and safety requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the manufacturing or packaging industry.
- Proficiency in Solidworks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively in a collaborative environment
