Mechanical Design Engineer
Mundelein, IL
6 month contract with possible extension
$45/HR + benefits + paid holidays

This role involves designing, developing, and testing mechanical components and systems for our packaging solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, experience in 3D modeling software, and a background in designing components for manufacturing efficiency and reliability.

Ideal candidate will have: OEM machine design experience and a strong proficiency with SolidWorks

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems from concept through to production.

  • Use CAD software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD) to create detailed designs, drawings, and prototypes.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and ensure manufacturability.

  • Conduct testing and analysis on prototypes, making modifications as needed for optimization.

  • Ensure designs meet regulatory standards and safety requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the manufacturing or packaging industry.

  • Proficiency in Solidworks

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills to work effectively in a collaborative environment
