Animal Technician – Aurora, CO
Type: Contract (6-12 months, potential for hire)
Shift: Part time or Full Time options, weekend work & remote work opportunity
Need to be on-site from 12p-4p
Pay Rate: $27-$30/hr
Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure proper care, feeding, welfare monitoring, cage cleaning, and waste disposal for animal subjects.
- Handle and restrain animals (mice/rats)
- Weigh and conduct animal health assessments.
- Administer trial and control materials via oral gavage, intranasal inoculation, intraperitoneal injections, intramuscular injections, and tail vein injections.
- Harvest tissues or organs for analysis.
- Perform euthanasia as needed.
- Use instruments to assess animal physiology and body composition.
- Develop and implement new laboratory procedures.
- Maintain data and sample logs, promptly inputting information into ELN systems.
- Draft, edit, and review study plans and reports.
- Provide regular updates to the manager through email and meetings.
- Ensure proper care, feeding, welfare monitoring, cage cleaning, and waste disposal for animal subjects.
Qualifications:
- HS Diploma, prefer Life Sciences Degree (or in process of gaining)
- Animal handling experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to effectively handle data
- Able to work in a fast-paced setting
- Must have a strong commitment to being on-site for studies regardless of weather conditions.
