Product Engineer | Jacksonville, FL

Direct Hire | Relocation Provided

 

Work directly with the Director of Engineering and be primarily responsible for ongoing sustaining engineering activities for products that are in production.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Responsible for documenting and communicating in writing to the Director of Engineering on issues that may affect current product, customer relations, or sales

  • Work with the Director of Engineering, Production, and Quality Control to address and correct issues affecting production

  • Thoroughly review, analyze, and update all existing prints to ensure that they express proper tolerances, fit with mating components, materials of construction, revision block annotations, etc.

  • Work with the Director of Engineering and the Production Department to improve existing fixtures or design new fixtures to improve production efficiency and product quality

  • Utilize existing metrics to measure improvements in quality and efficiency. Develop these metrics when none exist

  • Interface directly with customers as directed to assess issues in the field and gather information to help determine corrective actions

  • Work with R&D on new product launches to the factories

  • Work with outside listing agencies, such as UL and NSF

  • Create or update work instructions of existing product

  • Create and/or perform testing on products, components, and applications

  • Assist in maintaining product manuals, instructions, specifications, and technical information

  • Assist Marketing in creating product and application descriptions for literature and website

  • Perform product and application training for employees as required

Skills Required

Must possess the ability to:

  • read and interpret documents such as manuals and specification sheets

  • develop and write reports

  • speak effectively before groups of customers and employees

  • calculate and present figures, discounts, percentages, fractions, ratios, and graphs

  • define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions

  • prioritize and organize daily schedule, tasks, and projections

  • perform intermediate personal computing skills including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and graphics
