Kelly® Engineering is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a contract-to-permanent position at a leading manufacturer of advanced drivetrain and braking systems for commercial vehicles and industrial in Troy, MI. Up to $50,000 annually

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Accounts Payable (AP) Payments Specialist to play a vital role in ensuring seamless vendor payment operations within our organization. This role requires a detail-oriented professional adept at supporting AP payment processes, collaborating closely with team members, and troubleshooting payment-related issues. The AP Payments Specialist will work alongside a peer in the same role to ensure the timely and accurate completion of daily and monthly tasks, including addressing ACH bank returns, ERP system issues, and other payment concerns. The ideal candidate will possess previous AP experience, strong multitasking skills, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.

This is a hybrid position currently requiring a minimum of 2 days (Thursdays mandatory) attendance in the Troy office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage, audit, and approve daily and weekly vendor payments, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.

  • Drive improvements in payment processes and support working capital initiatives.

  • Collaborate with IT and relevant departments to resolve system-related issues and support business objectives.

  • Facilitate the integration of non-centralized sites into the Shared Services model.

  • Optimize vendor payment schedules to balance promptness with cash flow management.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve payment and processing issues.

  • Promote teamwork and uphold organizational values and knowledge sharing.

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of critical tasks and processes.

  • Stay informed on Accounts Payable operations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in Accounts Payable processes.

  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and process improvement.

  • Strong customer service skills and follow-through.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word at an intermediate level.

  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and multitasking abilities.

  • Analytical skills to identify issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Experience with ERP systems; Oracle experience is a plus.

  • Ability to thrive in a large, multi-level organization with a geographically dispersed team.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume work within strict deadlines.
