Turnaround / Project Cost Analyst

This role provides cost estimating, forecasting, tracking, and reporting to a turnaround / project team in a world scale chemical manufacturing facility using an established work process. Typical span of control is supporting several $2MM – $20MM spend activities / year. The role requires strong collaborative skills and high competency with the basic Microsoft office tools. Individual will work a 4-10 work schedule supporting a facility in Freeport, Texas with occasional opportunity to support other Gulf Coast sites.

Job Description:

Responsibilities
• Utilizing historical data, resource plans and contractor rates, vendor labor and material quotes, build accurate costs estimates.
• In collaboration with the internal project team and vendor cost tracking personnel, validate expenditures and track actual cost vs. plan throughout project life cycle. Report deviations and update overall cost projections.
• Analyze and submit monthly accruals per company policy and industry accounting principles.
• Create closure reports for project close out.

Required Skills and Education:
• High competence in the of Microsoft Office Suite and SAP, and the ability to analyze large amounts of data.
• Strong analytical and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Willingness to follow established processes.
• Ability to articulate and present cost data, cost trends, etc. to leaders.
• Ability to work 4-10s, but adaptability to occasionally work flexible schedules including weekends.
• A self-starter who can identify, prioritize, and accomplish.
• A valid U.S. driver license.
• A high school diploma or GED.

Beneficial Skills and Education:
• Experience supporting turnaround or projects.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Secondary education in finance or accounting.

A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis.
