Kelly Services is partnering with a leading renewable energy company in the Amarillo, TX area to find a motivated and detail-oriented Administrative – Technical Writer for a contract position. High-performing individuals may be considered for a permanent, full-time role with the company.
In this position, you will work closely with technicians and department team members to create, revise, and identify changes needed for work instructions and site procedures across multiple departments, including Production, Warehouse, Quality, and Materials. The role will require both office-based and on-floor activities. You’ll be responsible for understanding complex procedures, documenting process steps, and capturing images to support instructional content.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed work instruction manuals and equipment manuals for facility operation equipment.
- Ensure technical accuracy in writing user documentation.
- Participate in pre-work meetings to discuss lift plans, schedules, hazards, and work requirements.
- Prepare crane lift instructions for various components.
- Communicate technical information in clear, easy-to-understand language for non-technical audiences.
- Assist other writers in the creation of documentation.
- Review and improve existing and potential content.
- Produce documentation within a set timeline, with performance measured as part of KPI metrics.
- Understand and apply Quality Management System principles for document control and approval.
- Collaborate with all facility departments to produce required documentation.
- Provide regular updates to your direct leader and site leadership on documentation progress.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Smart Sheet/Excel.
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience.
- At least 2+ years of proven experience in writing technical documentation or administrative type work.
Desired Characteristics:
- Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of personnel at all levels.
- Manufacturing and/or wind turbine experience.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
