Looking for a Payroll & Benefits Administrator to join this great team. In this critical role, you’ll be responsible for managing payroll and benefits for both union and non-union employees, ensuring seamless and compliant processes. This position reports directly to our Head of Human Resources and is perfect for a meticulous, data-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for union and non-union employees.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate payroll approval and processing.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state wage regulations, handling employment verifications, unemployment claims, and garnishments.
- Oversee certified payroll requirements and prepare meticulous employee records for accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
- Manage, track, and audit PTO, benefits enrollments, and employee payroll changes, including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans.
- Support new hire onboarding, offboarding, and I-9 compliance, and assist with Leave of Absence processes.
- Coordinate annual compliance reporting and internal education on payroll and benefits updates.
- Serve as a liaison with vendors, ensuring accountability and managing contracts effectively.
What You Bring:
- Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Business/HR or equivalent experience; CPP or SHRM PHR certification preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of payroll experience and benefits administration, ideally within a construction or service organization.
- Expertise: In-depth knowledge of payroll software/HRIS, payroll tax, ERISA-regulated health plans, and federal/state compliance.
- Skills: Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook), experience in SharePoint/Teams, and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Attributes: High levels of integrity, confidentiality, and diplomacy, coupled with strong time management and decision-making skills.
