Kelly is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to work with our manufacturing client at their Chicago-based plant on a direct hire basis – starting ASAP! This is an excellent opportunity to join an innovative company that has been successful for over 85 years.
The Senior Human Resources Generalist will:
- Drive HR programs and policies for the plant
- Lead employee communications for the site
- Responsible for managing employee relations issues including but not limited to counseling, coaching, and corrective action
- Manage all recruiting efforts for the site; full cycle recruiting with assistance from HR Specialist
- Facilitate the internal job promotion and interview process
- Coordinate and facilitate a variety of employee meetings, engagement events, and trainings
- Manage site LOAs including FMLA, STD, and personal leaves
- Track, monitor, and coach employees and supervisors on weekly attendance
- Create reward and recognition programs to drive performance in alignment with business objectives
- Onboard new employees, facilitate new hire orientations
- Assist Corporate EHS Coordinator to ensure compliance with annual Safety and Health compliance training
- Assist with injuries, illnesses, and Workers Compensation
- Support, mentor, and manage site HR Specialist
- Assist Corporate HR team with company-wide projects and initiatives
- Update and maintain current job descriptions
- Maintain HRIS accuracy for all employee records
- Ensure compliance with City of Chicago ordinances, other state and federal laws
- Ensure proper record keeping and employee file maintenance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of HR experience
- Strong HR Generalist or HRBP background required
- Prior manufacturing experience highly preferred
- Prior union experience preferred but not required
- Bilingual in Cantonese or Spanish a plus
- Excellent verbal and written skills, ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels within the organization
- Ability to lead initiatives that require project management
- Professionalism at all times and treating others with respect and appreciation
- Must work well in a fast-paced environment and under pressure with competing priorities
- Accept responsibility for own actions and ensure strong follow-up on commitments
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
