JOB SUMMARY: Quality Engineer will oversee product lines from inception to end-of-life. The role involves ensuring all product requirements and quality standards are met and continuously improved. Key responsibilities include reviewing product requirements, conducting risk assessments, developing quality and inspection plans, establish and implement quality processes and standards, investigate quality issues, perform audit and data analysis and manage process improvement projects. The ideal candidate excels in communication, problem-solving, time management, project management, and initiative, ensuring that quality standards are met and continuously improved upon.
Ideal candidate will have: Experience with AS9100, ASQ certified or CSSBB, and history of successfully performing FMEA and DOE
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage the quality of the product throughout the entire product lifecycle to ensure all requirements and expectations are met, including quality control at all stages (incoming materials, in-process operations, and final product delivery).
• Review product specifications, drawings, and other related standards and documents to fully understand the requirements and ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential quality issues.
• Develop quality plans and inspection and test plans to ensure product and process standards and requirements are met.
• Conduct product, process, and document audits to verify compliance with established QMS procedures and drive actions to address findings.
• Collect data and perform data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement, using statistical tools and lean six sigma methodologies to drive decisions and optimize quality processes.
• Investigate root causes of quality issues, implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence, and meet company goals.
• Develop and implement quality processes and standards, ensuring they align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements, and enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
• Lead and manage quality improvement projects, ensuring timely and effective implementation of solutions and driving continuous enhancement of quality processes.
•Provide training to staff on quality standards, procedures and best practices.
• Evaluate and manage supplier quality to ensure that purchased materials and components meet required specifications and standards.
QUALIFITCATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
• CQE, CQA, Certified SSBB Preferred.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and GD&T
• Proficiency in statistical analysis tools and techniques.
• Excellent communication, time management, project management, and presentation skills.
• Ability to take initiative, drive actions to achieve results, and meet goals.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills and the ability to implement effective solutions.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and training personnel.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel, Minitab, and database management.
• Strong organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
