Job Title: Quality Lab Test Engineer
Department: Quality Assurance / Engineering
Reports To: Quality Manager
Job Summary:
The Quality Lab Test Engineer is responsible for the design, execution, and analysis of tests to ensure the quality and performance of products. They will work closely with engineering, product development, and manufacturing teams to design test methods, validate product specifications, and maintain testing equipment and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop tests to evaluate product performance, durability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Execute testing protocols and collect data to identify product defects and areas for improvement.
- Analyze test results and determine if products meet the specified requirements.
- Create detailed reports and documentation of test processes, results, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain and calibrate testing equipment and ensure it is functioning properly.
- Conduct failure analysis on products and components to identify root causes.
- Stay current with industry standards, best practices, and technological advancements in testing methods.
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for testing processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality or test engineering role.
- Strong understanding of test methodologies, test equipment, and quality assurance principles.
- Proficiency with test management software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the products being tested (e.g., ISO, ASTM).
