Fork Lift Operator
Job Specifications:
– Job Type: Full-time
– Location: Newport News, VA
– Pay Rate: $17/hr
– Shift: 8a-5p, Monday-Friday
Roles and Responsibilities:
– Safely operate a forklift to load and unload trucks and shipping containers
– Block and brace products to secure them during transportation
– Down stack products to prepare them for palletizing
– Follow documentation procedures to ensure accurate tracking of inventory
– Perform daily and weekly housekeeping tasks such as sweeping, dusting, and emptying trash cans
– Adhere to food grade facility requirements and maintain cleanliness standards
– Follow all safety and compliance policies and procedures
– Pick orders and put away products as required
– Utilize stand up, sit down, and high reach forklifts as needed
Qualifications & Skills:
– Previous experience as a Fork Lift Operator or similar role
– Valid forklift operator certification
- Experience working in a food grade facility is required
– Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations
– Ability to follow documentation procedures accurately
– Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
– Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
– Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects
– Flexibility to work different shifts as required
