Automotive Exterior Designer
Location: San Diego, CA
LONG TERM CONTRACT WITH BENEFITS! 

Primary function is the exterior design development of two-dimensional representations of future Nissan and Infiniti products by collaborating with all functions of the design process to create the required deliverables.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Include but are not limited to Responsible for the two-dimensional representation and development of future automotive exterior designs for both Nissan and Infiniti Develop new and unique proposals in sketches, digital sketches, visual 3D models, renderings and other media to illustrate both individual and department designs.

  • Assist the 3D modeling department in the interpretation of an exterior design into three-dimensional form while incorporating required Engineering parameters of the project.

  • Communicate with Engineering and Design Leadership to create production feasible proposals.

  • Work in a fast paced, dual brand, multiple projects, creative environment with a high level of responsibility for each designer.

  • Responsible for creating presentations and capable of communicating design proposal visually and verbally.

  • Stay abreast of American and international automobile design, current technology and domestic and international regulations.

  • The ability to work outside standard business hours to collaborate with global counterparts is required. Travel: Occasional, as needed to domestic, regional, and international locations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Minimum 0 to 3 years of experience in an automotive design studio

  • Education: Bachelor s or Master s Degree in Transportation Design or Industrial Design Required

SKILLSETS:

  • Excellent manual drawing ability, exceptional creativity, generation of new, unique and usable design ideas which reflect the brands.

  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator. Autodesk Alias, Sub-D, VRED. VR tools. Blender.

  • Microsoft PowerPoint and MS Office in a Windows PC environment.

  • Portfolio submission required

  • Optional Skillsets: Movie making in After Effects is a plus
