Job details
We are seeking an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance Technician to join our large cement manufacturing plant in Clinchfield, GA.
In this role, you will perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, installation, and repair of electrical equipment and process control systems. You will use a range of tools and equipment to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plant equipment, while adhering to safety and quality standards. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in industrial electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
Salary: $35.33/hour
Shift: 7am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment, gauges, instruments, and control systems.
- Conduct workplace examinations and correct any deficiencies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with AC/DC systems, motors, transformers, control panels, and other equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, wiring diagrams, and sketches to determine repair needs.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, ensuring equipment reliability.
- Operate various tools and equipment, including volt meters, ammeters, drills, pipe cutters, and machine tools.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and determine the best approach to minimize equipment downtime.
- Adhere to procurement standards for securing repair parts and supplies.
- Train other employees as needed and keep current with changes in technology.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area and participate in team meetings.
Tools & Equipment Used:
- Electrical testing tools (volt meter, ammeter, ohmmeter)
- Hand tools (pliers, screwdrivers, wire cutters)
- Machine tools (drill press, pipe threading machine)
- Calibration equipment (laser, calipers)
- Welding and soldering equipment
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety gear
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of 4 years of electrical/instrumentation maintenance experience or an associate degree in electrical maintenance or related field.
- Proficiency in industrial electrical maintenance, including AC/DC systems (4160V, 480V, 110V) and digital drives (VFD, solid-state).
- Experience with power distribution, programmable logic control (PLC), and digital drive systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, as well as pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and sketches.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
- Willingness to work overtime, shifts, holidays, and weekends as needed.
- Aptitude for numerical reasoning and strong communication skills.
