General Job Description
The Physical Test Technician is responsible for performing established routine laboratory testing, facility project requests and participate in other lab and facility activities in a safe and efficient manner that results in accurate data or results.
Core Duties/Responsibilities
The Physical Test Technician is a member of the North American Business Center Team and reports directly to the Lab-Facilities Manager. Primary tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Complete ISO, ASTM, OEM, etc. testing to complete requested testing designated in test request.
- Collect, interpret required data and generate reports as needed to provide to ADE/requestor and Lab-Facilities Manager.
- Maintain operational status on validation equipment and facilities.
- With minimal supervision, set-up testing equipment and required data collection systems and run prescribed testing.
- Operate testing equipment such as Ovens, Environmental Chambers, Tensile/Peel Testers, Microscope, Roll Coater, etc.
- Maintain testing, product development & validation inventory records.
- Archive completed testing and package shipments of articles per request.
- Facilitate/participate in Gage R&R/inter-laboratory studies in accordance with current/future lab certification/accreditation.
- Maintain 5S/safe laboratory practices.
Minimal Qualifications or Requirements
- Demonstrated technical and mechanical aptitude with a working knowledge of part production processes and testing.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a testing lab
- Strong comprehension and utilization of MS Office with experience using basic data analysis and interpretation tools.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Preferred Qualifications
- Ideal candidate will possess an Associate’s degree
- Experience with ISO/5S practices
Excellent understanding of standard laboratory practices
