Our well-established client in Markham, ON, is looking for Bilingual Claims Adjusters who can adapt quickly to their processes and policies. If you are a fast learner who is open to gaining further knowledge and experience in the Insurance industry, and available to work on a 6-month contract, with potential to go longer, then this role may be for you.

 

RESPONSIBIITIES:

 

  • Adjudicate contested and complex accident, life, critical illness, cancer, and sickness disability claims.

  • Approve, deny, or inquire further for necessary information from claimants, doctors, or hospital to assess claimant’s eligibility for benefits.

  • Interprets and administers policy provisions including, but not limited to eligibility, definition of total disability, and pre-existing investigations.

  • Review and make decisions for policy rescission, after discussion with underwriting. Adjudicate contested and complex accident, life, critical illness, cancer, and sickness disability claims.

  • Refer files for special investigation if required.

  • Other duties as required.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum high school education or college diploma

  • Minimum 3 years of claims adjudication experience

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written (French and English)

  • Mathematical skills – Aptitude for figures

  • Ability to make good decisions and use sound judgment

  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology an asset

  • Knowledge of disability experience an asset

  • Quick to learn and adapt to new processes, procedures and systems

  • Work Monday to Friday, 37.5-hour work week

  • Hybrid model 3 days in the Markham Office and 2 days remote

  • In office during training period

  • $25.00 – $26.30 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay paid weekly
