Kelly® Engineering is seeking a CNC Process Engineer to join our client’s team in Clover, SC. In this role, you will drive process improvements, enhance product quality, and reduce manufacturing costs by developing and optimizing CNC processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to define and implement continuous improvement strategies for manufacturing processes that meet customer requirements and enhance productivity.
- Support and actively participate in LEAN manufacturing initiatives.
- Work closely with machine builders to design and build parts, tooling, and fixtures for optimized performance.
- Assist in creating and revising employee training programs.
- Contribute to the development of safety and productivity standards for new and existing manufacturing processes.
- Analyze process capabilities to identify and implement industry best practices across all levels.
- Possess a working knowledge of IATF 16949 standards (preferred).
- Engage in machine design, continuous improvement efforts, and redesign as necessary.
- Establish and maintain quality standards and procedures for both new and existing processes.
- Focus on process controls, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Conduct design of experiments to enhance manufacturing processes.
- Perform engineering design tasks, including FMEA and control plan development.
- Enhance machine uptime and reliability.
- Lead initiatives in product and process development, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Promote design for manufacturing principles to support product acceptance in the market.
- Provide engineering support throughout the product lifecycle, from development to market delivery.
- Oversee DVP&R and process testing, including data analysis and presentation.
Technical Knowledge/Education needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Mechanical design skills
- CNC programming expertise, including experience with 5-axis programming
- Proficiency in CAD software
- Experience in new product and process development
- Knowledge of material handling systems and heat transfer principles
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), design of experiments (DOE), and failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA)
- Familiarity with vision systems and robotic/process automation technologies
