Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician – 2nd shift – Preston, WA
 
Job Overview:
 
As a Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our products meet the highest standards. You will be responsible for testing product conformance, recording and analyzing data, conducting daily sampling and inspections, and maintaining cleanliness of laboratory equipment. Additionally, you will perform pre-operational inspections, CIP/COP procedures, and assist in batching as needed. Your efforts will help uphold food safety and quality practices, contributing to the overall success and safety of our operations.
 
Details:
Pay rate: $22/hr + $0.75/hr shift differential
Shift: 2nd shift 1pm – 9:30pm Monday – Friday with OT potential on Saturdays
Duration: Temp-to-hire
 
Responsibilities
 

  • Ensure product quality by testing conformance to specifications and maintaining high standards.

  • Accurately record data using Zontec SPC software.

  • Conduct daily sampling and inspection of water treatment and wastewater.

  • Collect and test samples of raw materials and finished products.

  • Perform micro testing on various samples, including water treatment, finished products, rinse samples, and packaging.

  • Maintain cleanliness of test equipment, utensils, and laboratory following standard food laboratory techniques.

  • Conduct pre-operational inspections at startup and product change-over.

  • Perform CIP/COP procedures on batching, blending, and filling equipment.

  • Cross-train as a QA Batcher to assist in batching and provide leave relief.

  • Ensure food safety, quality, and SQF practices are followed, reporting any issues to the immediate manager.

  • Complete other assigned responsibilities.

 
Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or a related field preferred; high school diploma with equivalent experience accepted.

  • 0-2 years of industry experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

  • Willingness to work overtime, including other shifts and weekends.
