Client is an award winning, CMMI Level 3 certified, provider of technology solutions for the government and commercial sectors.

Job Title: Software Test Engineer (Secret).
Job Location: 4800 Mark Center Dr, Alexandria, VA 22350

Schedule and terms:
•           Probation period: 90 days onsite, then hybrid 2 days remote / 3 days onsite
•           Contract to Hire – Conversion can be from 3-6months.

Required:
•           Active Secret Clearance
•           CompTIA Security+

Job Description:
Job Summary: As a Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, automating, and implementing tests to ensure the quality and functionality of our software products. You will work closely with the development team to identify and resolve issues, ensuring our software meets the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and execute test plans and test cases based on software requirements and technical specifications.
· Identify, document, and report bugs, errors, and inconsistencies in software programs.
· Collaborate with software developers to diagnose and rectify issues discovered during testing.
· Improve and automate test procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
· Participate in product design reviews to provide feedback on potential issues, risks, and usability.
· Conduct post-release/post-implementation testing to validate that requirements and specifications have been met.
· Evaluate new testing tools and methodologies to improve the efficiency of the testing process.
· Prepare reports on findings from the testing process to inform stakeholders and support decision-making.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
· At least 2-years of proven experience as a Software Test Engineer.
· Experience with automated testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, NUnit, XUnit).
· Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
· Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
· Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting.
· Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
· CompTIA Security plus certification.
Active Secret clearance

Preferred Skills:
· Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
· Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) tools.
· Knowledge of programming languages such as React, Typescript, C#, Java, or Python.
