Kelly® Engineering is seeking a Plant Technician for a direct-hire position at a leading biomass electric power generation company in Fair Oaks, IN. If you are passionate about shaping the world we live in and are ready to reengineer your future, trust the experts at hiring experts.

7am -7pm
Compensation:
$28-30/hr. + $20,000 annual bonus!
Overview:
Our client specializes in building and operating RNG production facilities that convert dairy waste into carbon-negative hydrogen, renewable transportation fuel, and power, offering comprehensive solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve environmental quality.
We are seeking a Plant Technician to oversee operations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and outage response at our biogas upgrading facilities. You will support daily operations and technical aspects of the renewable natural gas plant, assisting with commissioning and safely operating production equipment. Additionally, you will enforce safety protocols, troubleshoot processes, and document operational data, working closely with the Plant Manager and Plant Technician Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily plant operations to meet production, safety, and financial goals.
- Provide technical support, including interpreting schematics and recommending equipment.
- Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards.
- Assist in developing and implementing operational procedures.
- Commission, test, and operate plant systems post-construction.
- Comply with all plant safety regulations and actively participate in safety training.
- Monitor production processes through computerized systems and physical inspections.
- Perform plant inspections and quality control tests.
- Maintain detailed logs of plant activities, shutdowns, and troubleshooting.
- Suggest improvements to enhance production methods and equipment performance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s degree, technical diploma, or equivalent experience (required).
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with proven troubleshooting abilities.
- Experience in process production environments or the natural gas industry (preferred).
- Ability to work both independently and in teams.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and spreadsheet management.
- Familiarity with work order management systems like Fiix (preferred).
- Certifications in forklift and man-lift operation (preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of experience with process equipment and manufacturing operations (preferred).
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work with handheld instruments and basic tools.
- Comfortable with climbing ladders (up to 35 feet), working in confined spaces, and performing repetitive physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and walking.
- Willingness to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, and respirators.
