Job Description: CNC Machinist 
Shift: 2nd
Schedule Mon-Fri 3pm-10pm
Pay: $30 hr. with all requirements met

SUMMARY:
Sets up, services and operates machinery using methods and tooling sheets as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs duties of Machining Technician, plus:
1.    Reads blueprint, methods sheets, gage list, and work order to determine required tooling and operational sequences.
2.    Installs and adjusts alignment of tooling such as drills, cutters, dies, and holding devices, using templates, measuring instruments, and hand tools. 
3.    Verifies machine settings such as feeds and speeds, and gear and pulley selection, applying knowledge of shop mathematics. 
4.    Monitors machine operation and moves controls to align and adjust position of work pieces.
5.    Inspects first-piece and verifies conformance at machine setup. 
6.    Verifies operational data such as pressure readings, travel, gears, pulleys, belts, feeds, and speeds.
7.    Performs basic preventive maintenance and cleaning of machines and equipment.  
8.    Communicates quality, safety, or machinery problems to Supervisor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).  One (1) year of related experience operating machinery. Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments and have a working knowledge of machining equipment.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Vocational or Technical training preferred. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.
  
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Continuously required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Frequently required to sit, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.  Frequently required to lift, carry, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection, safety shoes, etc.) as governed by OSHA.
