Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and responsible Part-Time Controller to join our growing company. This position requires someone with expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), and financial statement preparation as well as payroll processing. The role also includes handling HR functions, but the primary responsibility is to prioritize AR tasks in the morning. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, mesh well with our team, and be eager to grow with our company. This is a part-time position, with a hybrid schedule of 20-25 hours per week, spread over 5 days.

Job Specifications:
– Job Type: Part-time (20-25 hours/week)
-Contract to hire
– Location: Southfield, MI
– Pay Rate: $40-50 based on experience
– Shift: Hybrid schedule

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize and manage Accounts Receivable (AR) tasks, ensuring timely collections

  • Handle Accounts Payable (AP) duties efficiently and accurately

  • Perform HR functions as required

  • Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth financial operations

  • Assist with month-end close and work with auditors for financial statement preparation

  • Provide support for payroll processing, including working with ADP and ensuring accurate disbursements

  • Responsible for all company accounting including AP, AR, month end, budgeting, financial statement prep and year end reporting

  • Coordinate with CPA quarterly

  • Contribute to the company’s growth by taking on additional responsibilities in strategic financial planning and analysis (FP&A) if desired and suitable

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience in a similar role as a Controller or Office Manager with a finance background

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks

  • Strong knowledge of AR and AP processes

  • Familiarity with payroll processing, preferably with experience working with ADP

  • Ability to handle month-end close and work with auditors for financial statement preparation

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the team

  • Reliable, responsible, and able to take ownership of tasks
