Quality Control Manager

Are you a dedicated quality professional passionate about implementing and maintaining high standards? Join our team as a Quality Control Manager and play a crucial role in ensuring excellence in our production processes. In this role, you will coordinate the implementation and maintenance of our quality system policies in line with regulatory and industry standards while collaborating with various departments to drive operational improvements and enhance customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management System: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Quality Management System, ensuring alignment with company guidelines and industry standards.

  • Collaborative Efforts: Work closely with Production and Engineering departments to ensure quality measures are met at all stages of production.

  • Data Analysis: Analyze quality control test results, providing feedback and interpretation to production management and staff.

  • Inspection and Testing: Direct staff engaged in inspection and testing activities to maintain continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.

  • Problem Resolution: Resolve quality issues related to capability, tolerance, and materials by identifying problems, examining solutions, implementing action plans, and providing necessary resources.

  • Customer Relations: Investigate and respond to customer complaints and product returns, ensuring satisfactory resolutions.

  • Communication: Responsibly communicate quality control information across departments and with external vendors or contractors.

  • Operational Improvements: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational improvements focused on process efficiencies and effectiveness.

  • Audits and Assessments: Conduct regular audits, inspections, and assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.

  • Feasibility and Manufacturability: Examine the feasibility of meeting critical part features and review design manufacturability, making recommendations to modify specifications, tolerances, and methods for cost-effective production.

  • Quality Assurance Contracts: Validate and follow quality assurance contracts with partners, ensuring consistency in technology and regulations.

  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize methods such as 8D and DMAIC to collaborate with other groups in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Quality System Development: Develop and implement a quality system aimed at improving quality performance, increasing customer satisfaction, and simplifying processes to reduce costs.

  • Audit Readiness: Ensure readiness for all internal and external quality audits. Assist in developing the annual audit plan, train internal audit team members, perform duties as Internal Auditor, and provide ongoing communication and reporting of results.

  • Test Activities Coordination: Coordinate test activities and planning with corporate engineering through SPC, DOE’s, and other methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience working in a certified quality management system (such as ISO9001:2015, AS9100D, TS16949).

  • 2+ years of leadership experience, supervising, and directing staff and resources.

  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience handling customer-related issues.

  • Technical knowledge of composite processing is desired.

  • Previous audit experience and formal training as an Internal Auditor are preferred.

  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude and an intuitive understanding of mechanical processes.

  • Understanding of basic Profit and Loss concepts.

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
