Job Opportunity: Research Support Technician
Location: Durham, NC
Pay Rate: $18-20 per hour (based on experience)

Kelly Services® is excited to offer a long-term contract opportunity for a talented individual to join our team as an RCS Technician in Durham, NC. This role supports essential research efforts by managing the inventory, preparation, and shipment of study materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, verify, and inventory test/control articles, tissues, blocks, and slides.

  • Ensure accuracy of study information by providing data sheets to clients and resolving basic inquiries.

  • Determine appropriate storage conditions for incoming samples with guidance.

  • Prepare study materials for shipment according to Standard Operating Procedures and Federal Shipping Regulations.

  • Retrieve study materials from RCS or Long Term Archive as needed.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of study materials.

  • Transport study materials between internal labs and client facilities.

  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Training in inventory control or related discipline preferred.

  • Experience: Relevant combination of education and experience will be considered.

  • Skills: Basic computer proficiency, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Licensure: Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Demands:

  • Stationary work (sitting/standing) for 50% of the time.

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs., reach, bend, and climb stairs.

  • Regular use of computer and other office equipment.

  • Ability to work in varying environments, including low temperatures and chemical fume hoods.

Work Environment:

  • Office/warehouse setting with potential exposure to biohazards and chemicals.

  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.

  • Low to moderate noise levels.
