Sample Accessioner

Kelly Science and Clinical is currently recruiting for a qualified, full-time, temporary to hire, Sample Accessioner for one of our clients. The position is in in St. Louis, MO, and the need to fill this position is immediate.

Summary of the Position:
The Sample Accessioner will execute fundamental laboratory tasks with regards to diagnostic testing.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive, organize, aliquot, label, store, and inventory human blood and plasma samples, and other biological specimens.

  • Verify accuracy of client and specimen details.

  • Assist the sample accession manager with maintaining sample inventories.

  • Assist lab management with standard tasks conducted in a bioanalytical laboratory (includes ordering and receiving supplies, maintaining inventories, performing routine maintenance on general laboratory equipment).

  • Assist laboratory personnel in cleaning duties.

  • Adhere to all quality, privacy, and safety standards in compliance with C2N Diagnostics and applicable regulatory agencies.

  • Desirable, but not mandatory:

  • Demonstrated experience working with human biological specimens (e.g., blood).

  • Experience with Laboratory Information Systems.

Qualifications/Education/Skills:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in chemistry, biology, or related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 2+ years’ work experience in a laboratory preferred.

  • Detail-oriented with good communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to maintain workflow and work productively in meeting critical milestones.

  • Experience with MS Office (especially Excel) and database entry.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively.

  • Proper understanding of all applicable biosafety rules, policies, and procedures.

Pay: $20 – 23/hr and depending on experience

Hours: Flexible to work Mon – Fri OR Tues – Sat, 8am – 5pm; flexibility also needed for earlier start times when necessary
