$140,000-$170,000

Overview:

Kelly Engineering is searching for an experienced Lead Chemical Process Engineer to join our client’s team in Lake Charles, LA. The ideal candidate will bring 10-15 years of expertise in large-scale petrochemical plant operations, with a focus on ethylene and MEG processes, as well as proficiency in CAPEX project management. This role is pivotal in optimizing processes, enhancing plant reliability, and providing mentorship to junior engineers.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage CAPEX projects from design to implementation, ensuring they meet performance and budget goals.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment issues; implement solutions to improve quality and efficiency.

  • Develop innovative operating methods to enhance plant performance and safety.

  • Collect and analyze data, propose process updates, and implement improvements.

  • Ensure equipment operates at specified capacities; collaborate with designers to optimize production processes.

  • Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing training and guidance.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate regularly with plant operators.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.

 

Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of experience in petrochemical operations, with expertise in ethylene and MEG processes.

  • Strong CAPEX project management experience.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to interpret engineering drawings and specs.

  • Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering; PE and Six Sigma certifications are a plus.
