Job Title: Inventory Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Location: Flint, Michigan
Compensation: $22.00/hour
Employment Type: Temporary-to-Hire

Job Description: Join our new facility in Flint as an Inventory Shipping & Receiving Clerk and seize this exciting opportunity in the city! In this role, you will play a critical part in managing our inventory system by conducting daily cycle counts, researching discrepancies, and ensuring the accuracy of our inventory within ASW. This is a temporary-to-hire position, with a potential path to permanent employment for the right fit after the conversion period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily inventory counts and research any discrepancies between physical and ASW system counts.

  • Organize and verify inbound deliveries, including physical counts and addressing BOL discrepancies.

  • Ensure proper storage of materials in compliance with safety procedures.

  • Oversee inventory rotations within the warehouse as needed.

  • Assist with shipping and receiving, including verifying shipments, handling will-call orders, and preparing items for outbound trucks.

  • Record and maintain shipment information, affix shipping labels, and track shipments.

  • Unpack, inspect, and manage incoming shipments; handle damaged goods and shortages.

  • Use a computer for email, tracking shipments, and generating necessary documentation.

  • Support additional warehouse functions as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment, specifically in inventory control.

  • Computer literacy, including MS Office (preferred).

  • Forklift certification or willingness to be trained and certified.

  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with management and team members.

  • Ability to perform basic math functions.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to handle detail-oriented tasks.

  • Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.

  • Capability to interpret instructions in various forms (written, verbal, diagrams, etc.).

  • Must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Capacity to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. intermittently during a typical work shift.

  • Adherence to established safety guidelines and use of protective equipment as required.
