Title: Thermal Lab Technician
Location: Hillsboro, OR
Type: W2 contract (NO C2C OR THIRD PARTY)
Duration: 6 months +

Overview

  • Title: Thermal Lab Technician – Liquid Cooling Thermal Testing (Including Lab Inventory Management)

  • Setting up and configuring lab experiments involving liquid cooling systems using fluidic elements, operating temperature control systems to ensure accurate and stable thermal performance, collaborating with engineers and scientists to design experimental setups, and performing testing, measurements, and data collection during lab experiments.

  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues related to cooling systems, temperature control, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and propose innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage lab inventory, including ordering, receiving, organizing, and tracking supplies, equipment, and materials.

  • Conduct regular inventory audits, maintain accurate records, and ensure stock levels are adequate for ongoing experiments and research activities.

  • Adhering to safety protocols and procedures.

  • Documenting experimental procedures, observations, and results accurately and in a timely manner is another crucial responsibility.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma

  • Proven experience in setting up lab experiments and working with liquid cooling systems

  • Solid understanding of liquid cooling systems using fluidic elements

  • Proficiency in developing and implementing temperature control systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills, and proven ability to manage lab inventory

  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office products for creating necessary lab documentation in spreadsheets and word document

  • Familiarity with using & operating laboratory test equipment & including sensors and data acquisition systems to measure temperature, pressure, and flow

  • Ability to manage, maintain, and operate an engineering laboratory including all aspects of organization, cleaning, inventory tracking, safety compliance, and security

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field

  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in laboratory environments

  • Understanding of experimental design principles and statistical analysis methods

  • Hands on technician familiar with building or assembling PCs or computers especially rack-based servers that includes assembly, troubleshooting, repairing, operating, and
    debugging internals

  • Familiarity with liquid cooling and data center and computer equipment is preferred including liquid couplings, hoses and different fluid types

Competencies Required

  • Ability to perform lab tests, write test procedures against pre-defined test plans in the lab

  • Ability to troubleshoot test equipment, test setups, and assemble test fixtures in the lab

  • Ability to read schematics is a bonus however the ability to perform low voltage wiring is preferred

  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures when working on high voltage and low voltage equipment

  • Ability to ensure lab documentation and procedures are documented and process are followed including creating such process and procedures

  • Ability to communicate clearly, have strong work ethic, show up on time, and maintain disciplined focus on completing tasks in a timely and safe manner

  • Ability to be self-managed, independent, enthusiastic, and positively contribute by augmenting others work when asked for help or to assist, follow directions and clearly communicate is critical

Additional Information

  • Onsite / Monday – Friday / 8:00am – 5:00pm

  • Lab environment

  • Open to candidates with HVAC/cooling experience
