FUNCTION AND DISCIPLINE
Function description: Ensures that the quality of Customer suppliers, products and processes are compliant with internal and regulatory standards and are continuously improving.
Discipline description: Manages supplier quality performance through prevention, monitoring/escalation processes, processing of supplier submission of nonconforming material. Manages/Supports supplier onboarding and qualification/certification. Manages source inspection and material release processes. Performs Escape management procedures, drives root cause analysis & problem solving and recommends corrective and preventive action for systemic supplier process and product materials. Proactively supports the Customer supplier programs to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability. Analyzes quality data to identify systemic issues and develops supplier specific quality initiative strategies, addressing them with key proactive quality tools (e.g. PFMEA, MSA, Process Flow and Control Plans, SPC, etc.), as well as driving their implementation. Ensures that supplier is capable to meet all contract requirements including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) acceptance
RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENTS
- Executes elements of supplier qualification certification, assessment, monitoring escape management, and / or quality issue resolution processes.
- Uses quality data to contribute to the development of part / supplier specific quality issue resolution and corrective actions.
- Conducts research and provides explanations in the course of root cause analysis & problem solving (Red-X & 8D) in escape management procedures. Makes recommendations for the development of corrective and or preventive actions for systemic process and product design problems for product provided by suppliers.
- Executes elements of processes and procedures for supplier qualification / certification, source inspection and material release processes, and Correction Action Boards / DQ Clinics with suppliers.
- Conducts activities in support of the Customer Supplier Gold program to ensure healthy continuous improvement and sustainability.
Contributes to the development of recommendations to ensure supplier is capable to meet all requirements for work transfer and process change management including Resourcing Gate and Production Part Approval Process (IJPPAP) acceptance
