Job Description: Inventory Technician- Westbury NY
Position Overview
The Inventory Technician is responsible for receiving and pulling raw materials while ensuring inventory accuracy. This role requires meticulous planning and effective cross-functional interactions to facilitate the seamless flow of biomaterials from inventory to lab technicians. The Inventory Technician will ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, State Departments of Health, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Clinical Practices (GCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and relevant regulatory guidelines, including EMEA and FDA standards, as well as general State and Country Regulations (e.g., CLIA, CAP, USP, ISO 9001, USDA regulations, HTA license, DEA and State Controlled Substance programs).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with Client Services and Planning teams to understand customer demands and ensure the timely and accurate availability of biomaterials and products.

  • Foster strong partnerships with suppliers to enhance communication and collaboration, establishing effective working relationships.

  • Lead initiatives to identify and implement process improvements aimed at reducing backorders and enhancing overall operational efficiency.

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows and elevate the procurement process. Respond to and troubleshoot Fridge/Freezer monitoring system alerts during and after scheduled shifts.

  • Assist with quarterly inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory records.

Education and Experience

  • Associates degree; experience in a related field preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in various computer software programs, including MS Office.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented laboratory environment, with familiarity in scientific terminology.

  • Excellent communication skills, a strategic mindset, and the capability to work cross-functionally.
