Job details

Location: Norfolk, VA
Hours: Monday-Friday 8a,-5pm
Pay: $16-$20/hr, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with assigned accounts to develop and implement recovery strategies.

  • Resolve consumer concerns and respond to complaints in a professional manner, aiming to de-escalate situations effectively.

  • Utilize strong time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet recovery goals.

  • Negotiate effectively in a collections environment to achieve optimal outcomes.

  • Maintain knowledge of debt collection laws, including the FDCPA and UDAAP.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to ensure consumer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous experience in sales and customer service, preferably in a call center environment.

  • Proven experience in a collections role with a focus on recovery preferred.

  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to manage difficult conversations.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus; candidates may qualify for an additional bonus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with legal processes related to debt collection.

  • Demonstrated performance in achieving recovery targets.
