Position: Engineering Maintenance Technician
Type: Direct Hire
Location: Tempe, AZ (ONSITE position)
Shift: 2nd Shift (2:30PM-11:00PM)
Salary: $55K-$70K (Based on Experience)
Summary:
Kelly Engineering is searching for a skilled Engineering Maintenance Technician for a direct hire opportunity in Tempe, AZ. This role offers an attractive benefits package and is ideal for a mechanically inclined, experienced, self-motivated individual. Responsibilities include providing top-notch technical support for various assembly equipment and tooling.
Qualifications/Skills:
- High school diploma required; college credit or Associate’s Degree preferred but not mandatory.
- Over 4 years of experience as a machine or equipment technician in electronic assembly manufacturing.
- Proficiency with small hand tools.
- Familiarity with using voltage, amp, or multi-meters for troubleshooting and equipment installation.
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office; CAD experience highly recommended.
- Skills in designing and fabricating tooling are a plus.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Responsibilities:

- Performs repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical/mechanical control systems, electronics, and automated equipment.
- Create and maintain PM (Preventive Maintenance) records for tooling/equipment, including spare parts and repair logs.
- Help complete planned PM services for all equipment promptly.
- Work with equipment such as Dek Horizon screen printers, Juki RX-6 and RS-1 placement machines, Koh Young KY8030 SPI and Zenith Alpha+ 3D AOI, Heller 1809MK5 reflow, Aqueous Technology batch cleaners, Juki Cube460 and i-Cube selective solder, Electrovert Vectra wave solder, etc.
- Assist with daily site inspections and verification of equipment and tooling.
- Provide operator training and assist with daily operations of tooling/equipment.
- Collaborate with equipment or third-party vendors to resolve issues.
- Support all team and company goals by taking on necessary duties.
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or other Cross-functional Managers/Directors.
- Performs repairs, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical/mechanical control systems, electronics, and automated equipment.
Work Environment:
The work environment is typical of a manufacturing setting where hazardous materials may be present. Security investigations may be conducted to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and/or work areas.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- 40 hours per week minimum required
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Some of the job duties may require sitting for long periods of time.
