Location: Cranston, RI

Salary: 80K-85K
Schedule: Full Time, Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm Onsite

Position Overview:?
Kelly Services has partnered with a leading e-commerce direct-to-consumer retailer is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team in Cranston, RI. This role involves providing leadership within the accounting team, overseeing daily financial activities, and managing month-end closing tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliations, and fluctuation analysis. The Senior Accountant will also be responsible for recommending improvements to existing accounting systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities:?

  • Execute month-end financial closing activities, including the preparation and posting of journal entries in compliance with GAAP, reconciling balance sheet accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data.

  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and reports for senior management, including variance analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts, along with related commentary.

  • Support periodic and year-end external audits by providing necessary documentation.

  • Manage sales and use tax reporting in collaboration with a third-party vendor, ensuring compliance by interpreting and applying existing laws and proposed regulations.

  • Oversee fixed asset accounting, analyze and forecast capital expenditures against projects, and provide reporting to assist in monitoring and managing spending.

  • Provide guidance and support to the finance team regarding financial information and accounting policies.

  • Propose initiatives for process optimization and automation to facilitate company growth.

  • Contribute to departmental and organizational special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:?

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and effective data presentation.

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a similar role.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
