Pathogen Lab Analyst – Logan, UT

Job Type: Full-Time, Temp-to-Hire (Conversion after 6 months)
Pay Rate: $19-$20/hr
Shift: Tu-Sa 12:00PM-8:00PM (1200-2000)
         
Position Summary:
As a Pathogen Lab Analyst, you will perform microbiological testing on food products, ingredients, and environmental samples. This role involves applying aseptic techniques, performing approved microbiological methods, and ensuring quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and interpret microbiological tests and notify management of any deviations.

  • Prepare and analyze samples for indicator organisms, pathogens, and chemistries.

  • Apply aseptic techniques in daily lab operations.

  • Monitor inventory and report supplies needed for testing.

  • Maintain cleanliness and equipment quality control through routine preventive maintenance.

  • Assist with quality duties, including temperature checks, control organism inoculation, and running media controls.

  • Follow company policies and procedures to ensure accurate results.

  • Participate actively in team goals and share information openly.

  • Prioritize tasks to meet both individual and team objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Life Science or a related field, with 2+ years of laboratory experience preferred (academic lab setting included).

  • Working knowledge of aseptic sampling techniques, lab equipment, and relevant methods and procedures (GLP, OSHA, FDA, BAM, APHA, ISO, USP).

  • Understanding of food testing lab practices.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Ability to handle computer equipment and lab tools.

  • Exposure to odors, fumes, hazardous chemicals, and microbiological pathogens.

  • Noise levels and temperatures may vary.

  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.

  • Color vision and depth perception are necessary.
