Accounting Assistant 3-5 month project +

$25-$30/HR

Onsite in Reno, NV

 

Scope: The Accounting Assistant will assist members of the accounting department in a variety of tasks as deemed necessary by management. The position will report directly to the Director of Corporate Accounting and Finance.

 

Duties:

  • Assist in performing accounts payable tasks such as coding invoices, reconciling vendor accounts, processing check runs, and other tasks as assigned.

  • Assist in performing accounts receivable tasks such as invoicing customers, recording payments, reconciling accounts, and other tasks as assigned

  • Assist in performing general ledger account reconciliation and analysis

  • Process journal entries in accordance with prior months and/or instructions

  • Assist in researching current and prior transactions to validate general ledger balances

  • Communicate effectively with vendors and customers

  • Communicate with associates at corporate and other officers regarding accounting and other business issues as requested

  • Follow instructions and processes that are in place. Know when to identify exceptions or ask questions

  • Cash Collections – both internal and external

 

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Prior experience with AP, AR and GL transactions

  • Pay attention to detail in order to ensure transactions are entered correctly

  • Understand basics of accounting – debits and credits, vendor invoices, customer invoices, journal entries, chart of accounts

  • Conduct yourself in a friendly, helpful, considerate, and respectful manner to associates, vendors, customers and any other people that you come in contact with
