Customer Service Associate (Project Position)
Hours: 7:50AM-4:50PM, Monday-Friday–$15.00 per hour
This entry-level role involves:
- Answering phones and providing friendly customer service.
- Performing preliminary evaluations of assessment status and printing duplicate receipts.
- Determining receipt needs for vehicle licensing.
- Performing various clerical tasks such as typing labels, filing money orders, and sending statements.
- Verifying residency information and assisting military personnel with tax waivers.
- Researching, updating, and maintaining taxpayer accounts and accurate mailing addresses.
- Communicating with License Bureau staff to ensure accurate vehicle titling and licensing.
- Handling customer questions, complaints, and providing guidance to temporary employees.
- Processing mail and conducting research on tax records and internet applications.
- Aiding title and mortgage companies in finding real estate parcel numbers and legal descriptions.
- Fostering a positive and friendly work environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Computer savvy with the ability to navigate various online applications
- Ability to complete a 2-3 month assignment
- Ability to speak, read, write and communicate in English
Preferred Skill:
- One year of experience in cashiering, bookkeeping, customer service, or related fields
- Vocational/technical training in bookkeeping
- Associate degree in Accounting preferred but not required
Physical and Mental Abilities:
- Analytical skills to categorize and determine relationships within data
- Ability to perform tasks involving some standardized work with creative and decisive judgment
- Proficient with office equipment such as a desktop computer, telephone, and photocopier
- Physical ability to perform light effort tasks, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds, and prolonged standing and data entry
