Process Engineer

Position Summary:

Seeking a Process Engineer to drive customer satisfaction through top-quality products and service. This role involves applying engineering techniques to enhance internal processes, ensuring operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with supervisors and operators to maintain a strong quality focus in daily operations.

  • Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement projects and corrective actions to enhance processes.

  • Operations Support: Work closely with Operations to deliver high-quality, cost-effective products on time, emphasizing “first time right” production and a robust quality system.

  • Process Analysis: Analyze current processes, define and track key performance indicators (KPIs), and statistically analyze trends to optimize operations.

  • Testing and Analysis: Support Operations and Technology teams in testing and analyzing products and materials.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with product specifications and manage reporting, training, and certification requirements.

  • Waste Reduction: Identify and execute projects to reduce process waste, improve product quality, and enhance productivity/margins.

  • Collaboration with R&D: Assist the R&D team in identifying opportunities for product improvements and development.

  • Global Best Practices: Work with European divisions to leverage and share best practices.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: BS or MS degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical).

  • Experience: 3-4 years of experience leading quality/process improvement in a manufacturing environment (chemicals or web coating).

  • Skills: Excellent communication skills and the ability to train others; high energy to manage multiple projects independently.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in quality/process improvement within the paper manufacturing or converting industry.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, database management, and statistical software (e.g., MiniTab).

  • Proven success in applying Lean principles in manufacturing.

  • Familiarity with paper or film coating, gravure coating, and printing.

  • Knowledge of process control instrumentation.

Additional Information:

  • Availability for overtime, weekend, and holiday work as required.
