Equipment Controls Engineer

  • Type: W2 contract (NO C2C OR THIRD PARTY)

  • Location: (ONSITE) Hebron, Kentucky (41048)

  • Shift: 8am – 5pm Mon-Fri

  • Duration: 6 months – End Date: 5/10/2025 – Contract extension expectation

• Experience with equipment line debug while providing on-site installation and training as required by project specifications.

• Must be able to be on-site at our BEC Hebron KY facility for 75% of time during installation, commissioning, and validation support.

 

This Automation Engineer is responsible for technical contributions focusing on state of the art and innovative automation solutions including equipment development, controls, and design through implementation for global operations. The primary role for this position would include large scale automated equipment related to filling, capping, labeling, inspection, and advanced material handling functionality.

 

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Partner with engineering team during installation & commissioning of highly automated equipment in our Hebron KY manufacturing facility.

  • Provide technical expertise to our technical operations and validation teams during characterization and validation activities.

  • Provide software & automation technical support in the areas of PLC controls, HMI’s, vision systems, servo control and overall equipment automation.

  • Work with contracted equipment suppliers on site and remotely to debug and make software and/or configuration improvements where necessary.

  • Become on-site subject matter expert (SME) for functional setup and operation of commissioned equipment.

  • Provide technical training and guidance to operators when required.

 

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Allen Bradley, Studio 5000 PLC programming experience

  • Experience with electromechanical systems including AC & DC motor drives, servo motors, HMIs, I/O hardware machine safety.

 

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Hands-on experience with a subset of the following software platforms: Cognex InSight, FactoryTalk View SE, AutoCAD.

  • Experience leading and managing a team during debug and commissioning.
